New Committee Descriptions
Finance Committee
The finance committee is responsible for monitoring and auditing the distribution of all of the contribution received by the church. A formal budget for each fiscal year will be developed and specific funds will be allotted to each of the active account categories for the specific fiscal year. The Finance committee has the responsibility to:
- Develop a church budget
- Project the income of the church for each fiscal year
- Evaluate new budget requests
- Evaluate ways to effectively budget the church contributions
- Review property, group, and vehicle insurance contracts annually
- Prepare and present a formal budget to the church each fiscal year for adoption
- Cause an internal audit of all church finances to be conducted by a committee of members
Building and Grounds Committee
The Building and Grounds Committee is responsible for the coordination of maintenance, use and modification or enhancements to the church properties. The Building and Grounds committee hs the responsibility to:
- Develop and recommend to the church membership, in cooperation with appropriate church leaders, policies for the use of church buildings and grounds
- Maintain an inventory listing of all church owned buildings and equipment
- Make monthly inspections of the facilities and make necessary repairs and improvements
- Plan for the security, fire prevention, and safety of the church buildings and properties
Hospitality Committee
The hospitality committee is responsible for coordinating all refreshments and dining functions of the church. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Determining any menu items that will be provided by the church and making all arrangements for delivery and setup
- Coordinating the overall plan and implementation of any "covered dish" events held at the church
- Arranging the seating, preparation, and cleanup of food and drinks for any function at the church involving the membership as a whole
- Managing the overall maintenance and operation of the church kitchen and associated supplies
Decorations Committee
The decorations committee is a standing committee which is responsible for overall church decorations which includes permanent facility decoration, seasonal enhancements, and church observed holidays. This committee is responsible for coordinating the placement of flowers in the sanctuary and foyer for each service.
Nursery Committee
The nursery committee will coordinate and manage the nursery facility operations at the church. This committee will be responsible for making sure:
- Members are scheduled to serve in the nursery at regular services and special events
- The nursery is cleaned and ready for use after every service
- All safety features in the nursery are in place
- Supplies required for nursery operations are stocked and available
